Maximum Security A Dog Park Mystery Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries Book 3 edition by C A Newsome Carol Ann Newsome Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

Lia Anderson found she had her hands full with her foster dog Max. She continually attempted escape – succeeding on many occasions. The day Lia and her fellow dog owner friends were at the dog park when Max once again escaped didn’t end well. The bone Max brought back to Lia turned out to be human…

Detective Peter Dourson, Lia’s boyfriend was soon on the case with his partner Detective Brent Davis and what they found wasn’t pretty. The murder victim was someone they knew; not well but they were about to know much more. As the investigation continued, the mystery deepened – would they arrest someone any time soon? But as the danger accelerated it seemed Lia was in the firing line once again. And where was the victim’s dog, Daisy?

Maximum Security by C.A. Newsome is the third in the Lia Anderson Dog Park mystery series, and was just as much fun as I’ve come to expect. The intelligence and interaction between human and dog shines through – the dogs are fully part of the story. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Maximum Security A Dog Park Mystery Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries Book 3 edition by C A Newsome Carol Ann Newsome Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

A good plot using a varied, but clearly distinguished, tightly-knit group of regulars at a dog park. Dogs really play a fair role--not just walked or fed now and then, and the plot carefully pulls in a few others (Lia's cop boyfriend, victim's dog goes missing and is befriended by victim's lover). All in all, a good dog read, a decent mystery (solved a bit from left field--but not too implausibly) and the writing is good too. I'm going for another Newsome title.
This book, and C.A. 's two previous books were great fun to read. I like my stories on the lighter side now that I'm older. The characters have been fun to get to know as well. I am sincerely hoping that Ms. Newsome has some more dog park mysteries on her mind. I love the humor inserted often and find it to resemble things that have happened in my life, especially where the dogs are involved. After fifty years of marriage and pets we have some strange and Interesting little tidbits that are usually fun to remember. I would highly recommend Ms. Newsome's dog park mysteries for a good, sit on the porch read.
I chose 5 stars because I couldn't put the book down. I have read all of Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries. I am so hooked on them that I can not stop reading the book until I get to the end. C.A. Newsome's books come to life while reading them. I started out on Book 1 of the Dog Park Mysteries and within 3 days I had read all the books she has written of the Dog Park Mysteries.

Two thumbs up on her books.
I love dog and I love mysteries, so I read the first book in the series and got hooked. I am so glad that I've discovered many new authors, thanks to my . These books aren't available in my library, although I have recommended them, and they are well worth buying.

The books are full of dogs, well-plotted, well-written, and the characters are well-developed. I hope C. A. Newsome includes a soft coated wheaten terrier in one of her future books -- it would be interesting to see how the dog turns a murder investigation into a 3-ring circus!
This is an enjoyable read! I am a dog lover and really like the dog characters and the people. I love Lia and Peter, their independence but love for each other. The story keeps me reading. I think I will finish the chapter only to read more until my eyes blur and I can’t see the words. That’s time to go to sleep and start again tomorrow!
Loved the idea of a dog park friends group. Enjoyed some of the different characters' idiosyncrasies. Got the first in the series for free. Started to dislike Lia halfway through. She is just annoying. Her stupidity about reality distracted from the story. Deleted the book from my cloud. The mystery is continued in the second book. Bought it to find of what happens...skipped to the end as Lia was still a very annoying character!!!!!!! Too bad the author made this main character such a flawed, essentially weak woman. The story lost out due to disgust about her personality. Too bad this book wasn't available through unlimited.
Another enjoyable read. Love the Dog Park people. I get a little aggravated at Lia but at just about the point I'm ready to shake her till her teeth rattle she comes through with some self realization and acknowledges her flaws and is willing to work on them. Who wouldn't love a friend like that... and that's how I think of the Dog Park series characters... as friends of mine.
I thought it was really cool that this book begins in my home state of Oklahoma too. LOL

This book does have some good couples advice in it like, “... if you want a good marriage, first you have to hae respect based on admiration, trust and then friendship...all three things...”.

I also like that in these books I run across references to other books/writers I “know”. In this one it was Lucas Davenport/John Sanders. Makes me think the author and I have similar taste in reading material.

This book only gets four stars because (1) I felt like the fiasco at the funeral … I won't describe it further... was really over the top and when I read Stacy's comment, “Did I do that?” I heard Erkle's voice in my head!!! and, (2) while I loved the surprise at whom the killer turned out to be, the denouement was presented as if the writer were running out of ink or paper.

As in the two previous books the author has used real people (with their knowledge and consent) and places which I think adds a level or realism. I'm off to read the next in the series... can't wait.
